Heisse Kursawe Eversheds Rechtsanwälte Patentanwälte is a "Partnerschaft" (partnership under German law). The "Partnershaft" is registered with the "Amtsgericht München" (Local Court of Munich) under the registration number PR 1. Partners are the only persons registered under the registration number PR1.
Each lawyer has the authority to individually advise and represent the client in and out of court.
In other matters, i.e. in general business transactions, the "Partnerschaft" is exclusively represented by the members of the management board, Dr. Matthias Heisse (managing partner), Dr. Stefan Kursawe and Axel Zimmermann each of whom are each entitled to individually represent the managing board.

The German patent attorneys are bound by the provisions of the professional codes of practice PatAnwO – Patentanwaltsordnung (German Patent Attorney Code) and BOPA – Berufsordnung der Patentanwälte (Professional Code for Patent Attorneys). For the European patent attorneys, the Code of Conduct of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (epi) and the European Patent Office Administrative Council’s Regulation on discipline for professional representatives apply.
