The following professional regulations apply:Lawyers (Rechtsanwälte) are subject to the professional regulations set forth in the Federal Lawyers' Act (Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung, BRAO), the German Lawyers' Remuneration Act (Rechtsanwaltsvergütungsgesetz, RVG), the German Lawyers' Rules of Professional Practice (Berufsordnung, BORA), the German Specialist Lawyers' Rules of Professional Practice (Fachanwaltsordnung, FAO), the law regulating the activity of European lawyers in Germany (EuRAG), the Code of Conduct for Lawyers in the European Community (CCBE Code of Conduct) as well as in the law implementing the directives of the European Community pertaining to the professional law regulating the legal profession. Tax advisors (Steuerberater) are mainly subject to the professional regulations set forth in the German Tax Advisory Law (Steuerberatungsgesetz, StBerG), the Implementation Ordinance on the German Tax Advisory Law (Durchführungsverordnung zum Steuerberatungsgesetz, DVStB), the German Tax Advisors' Rules of Professional Practice pursuant to the Federal Chamber of Tax Advisors (Berufsordnung der Bundessteuerberaterkammer, BOStB) and the German Ordinance on Fees for Tax Advisors (Steuerberatergebührenverordnung, StBGebV). Patent attorneys are mainly subject to the professional regulations set forth in the German Patent Attorney Act (Patentanwaltsordnung, PatAnwO) as well as the German Patent Attorneys' Professional Rules of Practice (Berufsordnung der Patentanwälte, BOPA). The European patent attorneys are subject to the guidelines stipulated by the Institute of Professional Representatives before the EPO (epi) as well as the provisions set forth by the Administrative Council of the European Patent Organisation on disciplinary matters.
