Eversheds expands further in Asia with new Singapore office
International law firm Eversheds today announced further international growth with the opening of an office in Singapore. The office will be established by partner Desmond Ong. The new addition increases the coverage of Eversheds to 41 offices across 26 countries in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia.
The Singapore office is the firms second wholly owned office to open in Asia and will work closely with the firms Shanghai and Hong Kong offices (due to open in 2009). Singapore will act as a hub in SE Asia for Malaysia Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Philippines, and Malaysia.
Commenting on the new office Dr. Matthias Heisse, Managing Partner of Heisse Kursawe Eversheds, said: "Our Singapore office will become a hub for Eversheds and our clients in South East Asia. Desmond Ong, Eversheds Managing Director for Singapore was previously Managing Director at DLA Piper Singapore for the last eight years. He is joined by an award winning team of lawyers who are intimately familiar with doing business in South East Asia.
