Heisse Kursawe Eversheds: Wachstumskurs auch im Geschaeftsjahr 2009 fortgesetzt
The international law firm Heisse Kursawe Eversheds continued its strong growth course in the 2009 fiscal year. Its net sales increased by 14 percent from 17.6m EUR in 2008 to 20.1m EUR in 2009. The turnover per Equity Partner rose by the same proportion, while the expense ratio remained, with approximately 55 percent, at the preceding year's level.
Some of the law firm's core businesses grew above average. The turnover in the Corporate/Tax practice group, for example, increased by 2m EUR to 8.3m EUR in total.
Dr. Matthias Heisse, Managing Partner, explains: "The turnover figures reflect the growing proportion of international business. We succeeded in further raising the share of turnover generated from international client relationships in 2009 and have meanwhile almost reached a percentage of 40 percent in relation to the total turnover. To a considerable extent, this includes clients Heisse Kursawe Eversheds acquired on its own, but also clients won through Eversheds International."
Despite a difficult market environment and unlike many competitors, the law firm did not have to let any staff go. At the start of 2010, additional staff was recruited and the number of attorneys and patent attorneys has grown to currently 85. Besides, 8 further Partners were appointed with the beginning of the new year, which increased their overall number from 16 to 24. In the meantime, Dr. Joos Hellert, another Partner, has joined the team.
In the past fiscal year, the voluntary bonus payments were raised and a performance-related additional payment was made to the assistants.
For the 2010 fiscal year, the law firm expects further growth in terms of revenue and staff.
