Neue Partner und Counsel zum Jahresbeginn 2010
Heisse Kursawe Eversheds: New Partners and Counsels at the beginning of 2010
Heisse Kursawe Eversheds has strongly increased the number of its partners at the turn of the year. The three new attorneys Dr. Herbert Kunz, patent attorney and head of the practice group Patent Services, Hosea Haag, head of the practice group Patent Litigation, and Andreas Ascherl, patent attorney in the practice group Patent Services, received partner status. Dr. Michael Schneider, patent attorney, will start working as partner in the practice group Patent Services on 01 February 2010.
By promoting four attorneys from its own ranks to partners, Heisse Kursawe Eversheds shows that the occupational advancement is individually accomplished based on performance, field of law and specific expertise with corresponding business development potential and not on certain years of affiliation with the law firm. Furthermore, it becomes clear that Heisse Kursawe Eversheds pays more than just lip service concerning the link between work and family.
Other new partners are:
Sybille Flindt, who had joined the law firm in April 2006 as Senior Associate in the fields corporate law, M&A and corporate finance, is specialised in cross-border acquisitions.
Dr. Christophe Samson, who had joined the law firm in July 2008 as Counsel, is specialised in “private clients” regarding corporate law, restructurings, corporate governance, venture capital, private equity and general trade law.

Dr. Alexandra Bergmann has expert knowledge in the field IP law. She is specialised in competition and copyright law and advises especially international companies. Alexandra is on parental leave and the promotion becomes effective following her return, which is expected to be 01 July 2010.
Managing Partner Dr. Matthias Heisse: “We are glad to extend the partnership and thus do justice to the growth in the different business areas. At the same time, we emphasize that each of our attorneys has all options of being promoted to partner.”
Axel Zimmermann, member of the management committe and head of IP adds: “We attach utmost importance to the compatibility of work and family. Children and the connected parental leave are no obstacles when it comes to the promotion to partner.”
Altogether, the number of partners increases from 16 at the end of 2009 to 24 by summer 2009.
Furthermore, five Associates have been promoted to Counsel as from 01 January 2010. Counsels are attorneys with profound work experience and expertise that is already well-known in the market.
