Among the 25 best law firms in the area M&A in WirtschaftsWoche

WirtschaftsWoche (WiWo, a premium German economic magazine) selected the top attorneys in Germany for mergers & acquisitions. According to the editorial staff, they are "attorneys who do not only master their area of expertise but also have skills that many lawyers are lacking: charisma and persuasiveness. Not only do they know how to develop cunning strategies for acquisitions or their defence but also the art to convincingly sell their ideas."

Name partner Dr. Matthias Heisse is among the 25 most important German attorneys for deals.

The selection of WirtschaftsWoche is based on a complex procedure. At first, the jury checked which attorneys attracted especially positive attention to themselves in the last few years by means of database research and questioning of experts; 373 were up for preselection and their names were submitted to 15 leading experts by the jury. As a result, the experts recommended 50 attorneys for a so-called "elite panel". At the end of the procedure, the jury based its decision on 4 criteria with an emphasis of 25 percent each: successes, experience, strength of the team or the law firm and focus. Therefore, a success for the Managing Partner of the law firm as well as the whole team.

The jury consists of Joachim Dübner (founder and head of Network Corporate Finance), Stephan M. Illenberger (chief executive of the German subsidiary of AXA Private Equity), Christoph D. Kauter (vice chief executive of Heliad Equity Partners), Professor Achim Schunder (head of the Frankfurt office of the publisher C.H. Beck and editor of NJW) and Daniel Schönwitz (journalist at WirtschaftsWoche).
