Further international expansion for Eversheds in Sweden

Eversheds today announced its association with Swedish law firm Andrén Bratt Partners.  As the tenth international association to be announced by Eversheds in two years, the Swedish association adds to the rapidly expanding international portfolio of the firm. Andrén Bratt Partners is a progressive Swedish law firm formed in 2003 with four partners and ten lawyers.  The partners have a long history of practicing at partner level in high profile law firms both domestically and internationally. The firm will now be known as Andrén Bratt Eversheds. With an established reputation in M&A; corporate finance; corporate law; employment law; insolvency and arbitration and litigation, the firm handles clients within the manufacturing, media, entertainment, telecoms, venture capital and international banking sectors and has an impressive list of clients including SEB, TeliaSonera, the Swedish Government, Calyon Bank; Credit Agricole Group, Toyota, CapMan and Bonnier Entertainment.

The association is another major step for Eversheds" international expansion following its association with German firm Heisse Kursawe in June this year. Sweden is a key northern European market for the firm, with a large number of the world"s major international companies based there. As the Scandinavian market becomes increasingly integrated, it is also a key gateway to developing Eastern European countries including the Baltic States. Eversheds and Andrén Bratt Partners have previously worked together on a number of projects including advising SEB, the North European financial banking group, on its high profile acquisition of Codan Life & Pensions, one of the largest insurance companies in Denmark and part of UK company Royal & Sun Alliance for approximately £240m, in 2004.

Alan Jenkins, Eversheds" Chairman said: "We have been working on a number of projects with Andrén Bratt Partners on an informal basis for a number of years and their links to our Copenhagen office are particularly strong. Close working relationships are key to the success of any association and we are delighted with the commitment and attention to clients that Andrén Bratt Partners has shown during our work together."

Jonas Bratt from Andrén Bratt Partners adds: "Our association with Eversheds will add further success to the growth of our business and will enable us to build on our current relationships by offering our clients a broader, more flexible service in an increasingly global market place. Clients will also benefit from the fact that we, together with Eversheds, will attract the best and the most talented young lawyers who are dedicated in pursuing an international career in an international business environment."
